Meet the Author

Caroline Shannon has been a professional journalist for more than six years. In addition to writing for several publications, including Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Ideal Bite, Maniac magazine, The Glass Hammer, Observer-Reporter, Divorce360 and Living Arts magazine, she is a lover of all things related to health and nutrition. She is the Lead Alternative Health Writer for Carrie & Danielle, and was even in charge of dishing out health-related news (May 2008 to January 2009) on the Diet and Fitness channel at First30Days, a resource for anyone who is looking to make a change. And as a tribute to her green and spiritual side, Caroline spearheaded the New Directions section at F30D for the months of October and November. Her latest endeavor is an editorial position at, a Gaiam Company publication.

Caroline has been a runner for more than ten years and is a certified Pilates instructor. She also takes an active interest in nonprofit organizations, such as the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Animal Rescue League and Habitat for Humanity. Her other passions include Thai food, singing loudly in the car, anything double-double chocolate and authoring her personal blog, Eat, Pray, Run. Caroline can be reached at
